I have posted the necessary documents you need to attend summer camp on the website under the summer camp event in June! Please go there and print them out and bring them with you this Sunday, May 8 and give to Mrs. Jameson! (if you don't have part C signed by doctor, that is OK, bring the rest!)
The DSISD Board of Trustees invites DSISD students to lead the Pledge of Allegiance and Texas Pledge at the beginning of each regular board meeting, starting August 28! Meetings begin at 6:00pm and the pledges are first on the agenda.
Troop 280 is running a training for Eagle Coaches. It will take place Tuesday Feb 6 at 7 pm at St Martin de Porres in Dripping Springs. An Eagle coach helps mentor scouts as they work to get from Life to Eagle Rank.
The church that Josephine built her Eagle Project playground at wants to have it blessed on September 8 at 9 am during their service. She would love for anyone who helped with the project to be there, and the whole troop is welcome too!
I am hosting my first Eagle project workday at the VFW Post 4443 on Sunday, March 27 from 1 to 5 pm. The exact address is 7614 Thomas Springs Road, Austin, Texas 78736. The plan is to shovel out weeds on the playground and to put swings onto the swing structure. Afterwards, the VFW wants volunteers to take nails out of wood (2x4, 2x6, etc. that they are repurposing) in their garage. This activity may go over my scheduled time, but it will still count as service hours if scouts would like more. Plan to bring working gloves and a big shovel (and safety glasses if you want them) for my project. They are monster weeds entangled in river rocks, so a big shovel is important. If you plan to help the VFW afterwards, bring a crowbar and/or hammer with an end to take out nails and safety glasses. We will be providing snacks and water that will be readily available throughout the day. Send me an email if you can make it on Sunday and will have a shovel to use. I will let you know when my second workday is when I have a specific date.
Hey guys! I, Emily Stone, am having my one of my eagle project days on Saturday, August 20th from 3:00 PM to 6:00PM at the VFW post 4443 in the main hall. There will be snacks, drinks, and music. We will be using drills to assemble mini libraries. If you come, try to bring your own safety goggles. Please RSVP on the troop calendar about your availability!
Elections are coming up! Now’s your chance to serve your troop as a leader. Our troop runs on the ideas and dedication of our scout leaders. Some positions are elected and some (positions of responsibility) are appointed by the SPL.
1 - Adult registration (this is about money, so important!) - If you are involved in two troops, you are 'Primary' with one and 'multiple' with the others. The troop that you are 'Primary' with is the one who you pay your registration with - so don't pay the BSA fee with more than one troop!
